AI code generator

Generate, refactor, test, and document code in TypeScript, React, Node, and SQL.

Ask for a component, an endpoint, a migration, or a test file. The agent writes it into the project, runs the type-check, and shows the diff.

Code generation inside a project, not in a chat window. Because the agent reads the surrounding files and runs the compiler, generated code matches your imports, types, and conventions more often than pasted snippets do.

What you get

  • Components and pages

React + TypeScript components styled with Tailwind, wired to existing state and routes.

  • API endpoints

Express routes with validation, error handling, and typed request/response shapes.

  • SQL and migrations

Schema changes and queries against a connected PostgreSQL or Supabase database.

  • Tests

Vitest unit tests for a module, run in the sandbox to confirm they pass.

  • Refactors

Rename, extract, or restructure across files with every change recorded in the run.

  • Explanations

Ask mode explains existing code without changing anything.

How it works

  1. Step 1: Point at the code

Open the file or describe the module.

  2. Step 2: Ask

Generate, refactor, test, or document, in Build or Ask mode.

  3. Step 3: Validate

The sandbox runs type-check, build, or tests and the agent repairs failures (max two attempts).

  4. Step 4: Review and keep

Read the diff; revert the run if you disagree.

Limitations and requirements

  • AI features require an Anthropic or OpenAI API key configured by the operator of your Codexa instance. When no key is configured the agent shows an explicit "not configured" state instead of pretending to work.
  • Supported languages in the sandbox are JavaScript/TypeScript (Node) and SQL via connections. Other languages can be edited but not run.
  • Generated tests are only as good as the behaviour you describe; review them.
