Code editor

A Monaco-based editor with tabs, search, diagnostics, diff view, and AI-assisted edits.

The same editor engine as VS Code, served from Codexa (never a CDN), with a file explorer, search and replace, autosave, and keyboard shortcuts.

An editor you would use even without the AI. It is the primary surface for every project in Codexa, and the agent's changes appear in it as ordinary edits with diffs.

Interface previewA static illustration of the Codexa workspace layout, built from the product's UI components. Not a screenshot of a live session.

What you get

  • Tabs and explorer

Open several files, create folders, rename and delete with confirmation.

  • Search and replace

Project-wide search with line context; replace across files.

  • Diagnostics

TypeScript and lint problems surfaced inline and in a problems panel.

  • Diff view

Compare the current file against any snapshot or AI run.

  • Autosave

Changes are saved to the project automatically and synced to a running preview.

  • Keyboard shortcuts

Familiar bindings for save, find, go to file, and toggling panels. See the editor docs.

Limitations and requirements

  • Realtime presence shows who is viewing a file; simultaneous editing of the same file is not supported yet.
  • Language intelligence covers JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, JSON, and Markdown. Other languages get syntax highlighting only.
  • The editor runs in modern browsers only; see browser support.
