Codexa for students

Learn by building real applications with explanations at every step.

Ask mode explains what the code does and why; Build mode shows every change it makes. You end up with a project you can read, not a black box.

A typical workflow

A study loop that produces portfolio projects.

  1. Step 1: Pick a template

Start with a documented React, static, or Express starter.

  2. Step 2: Ask questions

Use Ask mode to understand each file before changing it.

  3. Step 3: Build in small steps

Request one feature at a time and read the diff.

  4. Step 4: Publish

Deploy to a Codexa subdomain and link it from your résumé.

Example project ideas

Starting prompts you can paste into Codexa. Each one maps to a starter template and produces real, editable code.

  • A personal portfolio with a projects grid and a contact form
  • A quiz app that tracks scores with a small Express API
  • A college event listing with filters and an organiser login
  • A notes app with Markdown preview and keyboard shortcuts

Limitations to know about

  • AI generation requires an Anthropic or OpenAI API key configured by the operator of your Codexa instance; without one the agent shows a "not configured" state.
  • Generated code is a starting point. Review it like any other contribution before shipping to customers.
  • Starter templates currently cover single-page React apps, static sites, and Node + Express APIs. Other stacks can be imported from GitHub but have not been tuned for the sandbox.
  • Student discounts are in review and not yet available; see the students page for how to register interest.
