Full-stack development
Frontend, backend, database, authentication, and APIs in one workspace.
React in the browser, Express on the server, PostgreSQL or Supabase for data, and environment variables that stay encrypted.
Codexa does not hide the stack. A full-stack project is a React + Vite frontend and a Node + Express API with ordinary package.json files, which means anything you learn in Codexa transfers to any other environment.
What you get
Frontend
React + Vite + TypeScript + Tailwind single-page apps with routing and state.
Backend
Node + Express REST APIs with TypeScript, validation, and structured errors.
Database
Connect PostgreSQL or Supabase. Browse tables and columns; run SQL with destructive-statement confirmation.
Authentication patterns
Generated session or token-based auth for your app; see the authentication docs.
Secrets
Per-project environment variables encrypted at rest and injected into runs and deployments.
Previews with logs
Run both tiers in the sandbox and watch stdout and stderr streamed live.
How it works
Step 1: Generate both tiers
Describe the data model and screens; the planner creates frontend and API files.
Step 2: Connect a database
Add a connection and run migrations from the SQL runner.
Step 3: Run end to end
Preview the frontend against the API in the sandbox.
Step 4: Deploy
Frontend to Codexa static hosting; API to your infrastructure or Vercel.
Limitations and requirements
- AI features require an Anthropic or OpenAI API key configured by the operator of your Codexa instance. When no key is configured the agent shows an explicit "not configured" state instead of pretending to work.
- Codexa hosting serves static builds. Long-running servers are previewed in the sandbox but need external hosting (your own, or Vercel with a token) for production.
- Database connections are made from the sandbox and the web app; make sure the database accepts connections from where Codexa runs.
