Codexa for indie hackers

Build and launch side projects without an ops team.

One workspace for generation, editing, running, and deploying, so a weekend idea becomes a live site before Monday.

A typical workflow

The loop most solo builders settle into.

  1. Step 1: Prompt

Start from a sentence or a starter template.

  2. Step 2: Edit

Open the Monaco editor, tweak copy and styles, and let the agent handle the boring refactors.

  3. Step 3: Preview

Run in the sandbox and share a link for feedback.

  4. Step 4: Ship

Deploy to a Codexa subdomain. Hosting history lets you roll back a bad release.

Example project ideas

Starting prompts you can paste into Codexa. Each one maps to a starter template and produces real, editable code.

  • A niche directory site with a submission form and moderation queue
  • A habit tracker PWA with local-first storage and a paid export feature
  • A pricing calculator for a freelance service with a lead capture form
  • A tiny REST API that powers a browser extension

Limitations to know about

  • AI generation requires an Anthropic or OpenAI API key configured by the operator of your Codexa instance; without one the agent shows a "not configured" state.
  • Generated code is a starting point. Review it like any other contribution before shipping to customers.
  • Starter templates currently cover single-page React apps, static sites, and Node + Express APIs. Other stacks can be imported from GitHub but have not been tuned for the sandbox.
  • The Free plan includes 3 projects, 50 AI requests and 5 deployments a month; see pricing for the exact limits.
