Visual editor

Preview your application, inspect the rendered output, and request targeted UI changes.

The preview pane shows your running app at desktop, tablet, and phone widths. Describe what you want changed and the agent edits the code behind it.

To be precise: this is a live preview with viewport controls and an agent that understands your layout, not a drag-and-drop canvas. Changes always land in code so there is nothing to export or un-lock later.

What you get

  • Live preview

The runner proxies your running app into the workspace with a dedicated host per session.

  • Viewport controls

Switch between desktop, tablet, and phone sizes to check responsive behaviour.

  • Targeted changes

Ask for "make the hero two columns on desktop" and review the resulting diff.

  • Logs beside the preview

Console and server output stream next to the preview so errors are visible immediately.

  • Share for feedback

Create a view-only share link with an expiry.

  • Snapshots

Name a checkpoint before trying a redesign; restore if it does not work out.

Limitations and requirements

  • There is no click-to-select element inspector or drag-and-drop editing yet. UI changes are made in code or by prompt.
  • AI features require an Anthropic or OpenAI API key configured by the operator of your Codexa instance. When no key is configured the agent shows an explicit "not configured" state instead of pretending to work.
  • Previews consume runtime minutes from your plan; idle previews are stopped automatically.
